La Rete dei Comuni: Campione d’Italia (CO)

Ewiva, the Enel Group’s operator of ultra-fast charging stations, is continuing its efforts to expand the high-power charging network across the entire peninsula, with the aim of supporting Italian local authorities on their journey towards increasingly sustainable mobility. This time we stop off at Campione d’Italia, in the province of Como, a charming and historic Italian enclave surrounded by Swiss territory and overlooking the waters of Lake Lugano.

Campione d’Italia: elegance, art and relaxation
Known throughout the world for its unique geographical location and unmistakable style, Campione d’Italia offers visitors an experience that combines glamour, nature and a rich artistic heritage. Here are four unmissable places to discover:

Campione d’Italia Casino: The town’s undisputed symbol and one of Europe’s largest casinos. Its striking modern building, designed by the renowned architect Mario Botta, is an icon of contemporary architecture that dominates the lakeside landscape.

Lido di Campione d’Italia: The perfect spot to relax just a stone’s throw from the water. A small, well-equipped oasis where you can soak up the sun, take a refreshing dip in the warmer months and admire the majesty of the Swiss mountains reflected on the lake’s surface.

Walk along the Lakefront Promenade: An elegant pedestrian boulevard running alongside Lake Lugano. Ideal for a peaceful and rejuvenating stroll, it offers breathtaking panoramic views across the entire bay, making a visit to the village a pleasant and evocative experience at any time of year.

Sanctuary of Santa Maria dei Ghirli: Also accessible from the lake via a spectacular monumental staircase, this place of worship is a true masterpiece of sacred art. Inside, it houses cycles of frescoes of extraordinary value, a testament to the exceptional skill of the famous “Maestri Campionesi”.

Ewiva wraps up the second edition of emobility@school: schools that envisioned the future of sustainable mobility are awarded

The second edition of “E-MOBILITY@SCHOOL – The electrifying journey begins today” has come to a close. This educational project, promoted by Ewiva—the Enel Group’s operator of ultra-fast charging stations—and carried out in collaboration with Neways, aims to raise awareness among the younger generation about environmental sustainability, the energy transition, and electric mobility.

The educational program concluded with a creative contest centered on the theme “Energy and Sustainable Mobility: How Do You Envision the Future?”: through artistic works inspired by Ewiva’s values—freedom, sustainability, maximum power, and accessibility—students were invited to envision the future of electric mobility, transforming the knowledge, ideas, and reflections they had developed during the school year into creative projects.

The winners of the second edition of the contest were:

I.I.S. G. Meroni in Lissone (MB) – Class 5^ TGC2 with the project “An Integrated Ecosystem”;

I.I.S. Polo 3 in Fano (PU) – Class 4^P Archimede with the project “Another Path Is Possible”;

I.I.S. Enzo Ferrari in Castellammare di Stabia (NA) – Class 2^A with the project “Light on Tomorrow, the Awakening of a Sustainable World”.

This is a particularly significant achievement for I.I.S. G. Meroni in Lissone, which has once again established itself as a key player in the project by winning for the second consecutive year. Also noteworthy is the significant participation of I.I.S. Polo 3 in Fano, which entered the contest with four classes and four different projects. The result achieved by I.I.S. Enzo Ferrari in Castellammare di Stabia is also noteworthy, reflecting the widespread participation in the project recorded in Campania, one of the regions that participated with the greatest involvement alongside Lombardy and Piedmont.

The three winning schools will receive a voucher worth €1,000 to purchase educational materials. In addition, the selected projects may serve as a source of inspiration for urban renewal art projects promoted by the Enel Group’s Charging Point Operator, such as the decoration of electrical cabinets and other functional elements at charging stations. An initiative that aims to foster students’ creativity while helping to strengthen the connection between charging stations, local communities, and the values of sustainable mobility at the local level.

A project that grows alongside the culture of sustainability

Sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and aimed at high schools across Italy, the “E-MOBILITY@SCHOOL – The Electrifying Journey Begins Today” initiative has seen significant growth compared to its first edition, involving over 700 classes and reaching approximately 17,500 students from the north to the south of the country.

Throughout the school year, students and teachers had access to an educational kit focused on environmental sustainability, renewable energy, climate change, and the evolution of electric mobility, with content aligned with the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the civic education curriculum. Rounding out the program were six in-person meetings with Ewiva experts—twice as many as in the previous edition—which fostered direct dialogue between schools and businesses on the topics of the ecological transition and encouraged active student participation, including through fun, educational activities.

In Casagiove, a mural designed by high school students celebrates the electric future of mobility

A new mural has been created in Casagiove as part of the “E-mobility @School” educational project promoted by Ewiva, the Enel Group’s operator of ultra-fast charging stations, with the aim of engaging young people with the issues of sustainability and the energy transition.

The artwork was created by professional street artist Andrea Nova of Studio Sagome on the electrical station of the Ewiva charging station at Via Sebastiano Fortuna 1, bringing to life a creative idea developed by students as part of an urban art project.

The mural draws its inspiration from the project “Green Shift Toward Sustainable Mobility,” conceived by students at the Preti-Frangipane Art High School in Reggio Calabria and selected as one of the winners of the art contest held as part of the first edition of the “E-Mobility @School” initiative.

The artwork represents the transition toward a more sustainable future in the mobility sector, using a visual language that combines symbols linked to clean energy, technological innovation, and electric mobility. The work highlights the relationship between the urban environment and sustainability, focusing on the need to rethink how we move around cities through solutions with low environmental impact. Electric cars, energy connections, and elements inspired by sustainable mobility thus become an expression of a “green shift” capable of combining progress, environmental awareness, and new, more conscious mobility habits.

An ultra-fast charging station for local e-drivers

The Ewiva charging station at 1 Via Sebastiano Fortuna is equipped with two high-power charging stations, each rated at 300 kW, for a total of four charging points, and offers a convenient and accessible solution for local e-drivers and tourists. In fact, the site is strategically located, a short distance from the A1 highway toll plaza—Caserta Nord exit—and the Royal Park of the Royal Palace of Caserta.

E-Mobility @School: School, Creativity, and Sustainable Mobility

The “E-Mobility @School” educational project is designed to raise awareness among high school students about electric mobility, sustainability, and the energy transition. Now in its second edition, the educational program also includes a creative contest inviting students to envision their own ideas for sustainable energy and mobility: the selected projects are transformed into murals created by professional street artists at select Ewiva charging stations.

The project submitted by the Preti-Frangipane Art High School in Reggio Calabria was one of the three winning entries in the 2024/2025 creative contest on the theme “Your Idea of Energy and Sustainable Mobility,” which attracted over 100 projects created by high school students from across Italy. The three winning classes also received a voucher worth 1,000 euros to be used for the purchase of technological or educational materials for school activities.
