Ewiva wraps up the second edition of emobility@school: schools that envisioned the future of sustainable mobility are awarded

The second edition of “E-MOBILITY@SCHOOL – The electrifying journey begins today” has come to a close. This educational project, promoted by Ewiva—the Enel Group’s operator of ultra-fast charging stations—and carried out in collaboration with Neways, aims to raise awareness among the younger generation about environmental sustainability, the energy transition, and electric mobility.

The educational program concluded with a creative contest centered on the theme “Energy and Sustainable Mobility: How Do You Envision the Future?”: through artistic works inspired by Ewiva’s values—freedom, sustainability, maximum power, and accessibility—students were invited to envision the future of electric mobility, transforming the knowledge, ideas, and reflections they had developed during the school year into creative projects.

The winners of the second edition of the contest were:

I.I.S. G. Meroni in Lissone (MB) – Class 5^ TGC2 with the project “An Integrated Ecosystem”;

I.I.S. Polo 3 in Fano (PU) – Class 4^P Archimede with the project “Another Path Is Possible”;

I.I.S. Enzo Ferrari in Castellammare di Stabia (NA) – Class 2^A with the project “Light on Tomorrow, the Awakening of a Sustainable World”.

This is a particularly significant achievement for I.I.S. G. Meroni in Lissone, which has once again established itself as a key player in the project by winning for the second consecutive year. Also noteworthy is the significant participation of I.I.S. Polo 3 in Fano, which entered the contest with four classes and four different projects. The result achieved by I.I.S. Enzo Ferrari in Castellammare di Stabia is also noteworthy, reflecting the widespread participation in the project recorded in Campania, one of the regions that participated with the greatest involvement alongside Lombardy and Piedmont.

The three winning schools will receive a voucher worth €1,000 to purchase educational materials. In addition, the selected projects may serve as a source of inspiration for urban renewal art projects promoted by the Enel Group’s Charging Point Operator, such as the decoration of electrical cabinets and other functional elements at charging stations. An initiative that aims to foster students’ creativity while helping to strengthen the connection between charging stations, local communities, and the values of sustainable mobility at the local level.

A project that grows alongside the culture of sustainability

Sponsored by the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security and aimed at high schools across Italy, the “E-MOBILITY@SCHOOL – The Electrifying Journey Begins Today” initiative has seen significant growth compared to its first edition, involving over 700 classes and reaching approximately 17,500 students from the north to the south of the country.

Throughout the school year, students and teachers had access to an educational kit focused on environmental sustainability, renewable energy, climate change, and the evolution of electric mobility, with content aligned with the goals of the UN 2030 Agenda and the civic education curriculum. Rounding out the program were six in-person meetings with Ewiva experts—twice as many as in the previous edition—which fostered direct dialogue between schools and businesses on the topics of the ecological transition and encouraged active student participation, including through fun, educational activities.

Ewiva lanches a promo with new dynamic fares for high-power charging

Ewiva, the Enel Group’s charging point operator (CPO), announces a new promotion based on dynamic pricing, offering more favorable terms that vary by time of day and day of the week. The initiative, which kicked off on Monday, May 4, 2026, and will last until July 31, 2026, will be available at all Ewiva sites where a contactless payment system that accept credit, debit, or prepaid cards from the Mastercard, Visa, VPay, and Maestro networks, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay, is available.

Compared to the standard rate of €0.86/kWh, the charging price will therefore vary by time of day and day of the week:

– Monday – Saturday during nighttime hours (9:00 PM – 6:59 AM) and all day Sunday: €0.77/kWh.

– Monday – Saturday (7:00 AM – 8:59 PM): €0.82/kWh.

In this context, Ewiva ranks among the first HPC (High Power Charging) operators in Italy to implement a dynamic pricing model on a large scale, which allows the cost of charging to be adjusted based on usage times, making the service more flexible for e-drivers, especially during periods of higher mobility such as Sundays and the summer months.

The initiative, in line with the Enel Group’s strategy—which has already implemented dynamic pricing across its charging network—is also being extended to all interoperable charging service providers (MSPs): Ewiva will offer favorable terms to its partners, with the aim of fostering an increasingly collaborative ecosystem and supporting the expansion of electric vehicle charging throughout the country.

Ewiva brings electric vehicle charging to Campione d’Italia (CO), a strategic hub between Italy and Switzerland

Ewiva, the Enel Group’s operator of ultra-fast charging stations, continues to expand its high-power charging network and announces the launch of a new station in Campione d’Italia, at Piazzale Maestri Campionesi, in a high-traffic area that is a major attraction for the region.

In fact, the new site is located across from the Casino, along the promenade that runs alongside Lake Lugano, in a setting that combines local mobility with international traffic. The location makes the site particularly convenient for the daily commutes of cross-border workers between Italy and the Canton of Ticino, as well as for the tourist traffic that flows through the area year-round.

The station is equipped with a total of 3 High Power Charging stations, including 2 charging points of 150 kW each and 1 of 300 kW, for a total of 6 charging points (PoC), designed to offer a fast and reliable service in a high-traffic location. Located within a large parking area and a short distance from bars, restaurants, and amenities, the site allows e-drivers to efficiently use their charging time, integrating it with their activities, whether during daily commutes or on longer trips.

The new charging stations in Campione d’Italia are also equipped with a contactless payment system and accept credit, debit, or prepaid cards from the Mastercard, Visa, VPay, and Maestro networks, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay, in addition to the option of using an app or an RFID card from operators compatible with the Ewiva network, as well as Plug&Charge technology for compatible vehicles.

“We are proud to see Campione d’Italia grow as a destination equipped with top-notch infrastructure, supporting the region’s tourism and economic development,” comments Campione’s mayor, Roberto Canesi.

With this new launch, Ewiva consolidates its presence in Lombardy, where the network now includes 70 ultra-fast charging stations for a total of approximately 250 charging points, helping to make the infrastructure supporting electric mobility increasingly widespread, even in strategic areas with international connections.

Verona charges ultra-fast: over 200,000 km traveled thanks to the Ewiva station for electric vehicles

Another step forward for the development of electric mobility in Veneto: Ewiva, the company created to accelerate electric mobility in Italy, has built – in collaboration with Consorzio ZAI, an organization that has been promoting the economic and infrastructural development of the area for decades – a high-power charging station in the heart of the city’s industrial and commercial area.

Consisting of two HPC (High Power Charging) charging stations, each with a capacity of 150 kW, for a total of four charging points, the site is located at Viale Gerhard Richard Gumpert 1, near the Verona Nord exit of the A22 motorway: a strategic location that meets the needs of those who travel for work or cross the city along the main north-south routes.

Recently activated, the station has already enabled drivers to travel over 200,000 kilometers with zero emissions, thanks to the recharges carried out and considering the average number of kilometers traveled per kWh recharged, confirming the growing demand for fast and reliable public charging solutions even in non-metropolitan areas.

This is the first Ewiva HPC site in the municipality of Verona, adding to a constantly growing network: in Veneto, there are already more than 20 sites in operation, for a total of more than 90 charging points. Numerous new activations are planned in the region and in the province of Verona in the coming months.

“This new infrastructure,” says Matteo Gasparato, President of Consorzio ZAI, “is not just an additional service for electric vehicle drivers, but part of our strategy to rethink the industrial area of Verona in a modern and sustainable way. Integrating high-power charging into a logistics hub like ours means supporting the energy transition in transport without compromising the competitiveness of businesses and the quality of services offered to those who work and travel in this area every day.”

Ewiva accelerates electric mobility in the first half of 2025: 52 new charging stations activated

Ewiva closes the first half of 2025 with numbers that tell of a concrete transformation: that of an increasingly electric, accessible and aware mobility, driven by innovation and listening to the real needs of e-drivers. In the first six months of the year, the joint venture of Enel X and Volkswagen Group further expanded its national high-power network, with a total of 52 new stations activated and nearly 210 charging points (PoCs) distributed throughout the country. The full map of Ewiva charging sites is available at the following link: https://ewiva.com/colonnine-ricarica/

Capillary growth: new activations from North to South, including islands

In Northern Italy, new sites have been activated in Emilia-Romagna (14), Lombardy (7), Veneto (7), Piedmont (6), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (2), Liguria (1) and Valle d’Aosta (1), in line with the current concentration of e-drivers in these regions and the greater maturity of the e-mobility market in the North.

In Central Italy, the network has been strengthened with new activations in Lazio (3) and Tuscany (2), also providing coverage along the main tourist and commuter routes; while in the South, Ewiva has consolidated its presence in Abruzzo (1), Molise (1) and Basilicata (1), regions where the charging infrastructure is assuming an increasingly strategic role in supporting the electrification of transport. Overall, with these new activations, the number of Ewiva sites rises to 48, for a total of 163 high-power charging points available in the southern regions (excluding islands).

In the islands, 5 new sites have been activated in Sardinia and 1 in Sicily – for a total of 42 charging stations and 130 charging points activated in total by Ewiva – confirming the company’s commitment to bringing electric mobility to even the most complex geographic contexts, where the availability of charging is a key factor in the spread of electric vehicles.

More accessibility and awareness for e-drivers

In the first half of 2025, Ewiva continued its efforts to make public charging not only widespread, but also more accessible. In May, the company launched a special promotion designed to incentivize electric vehicle use during the first major commute of the year, offering a concrete and affordable alternative to traditional mobility. The initiative was accompanied by the industry’s first national advertising campaign, with the aim of raising awareness of electric mobility among the general public and stimulating a more conscious and accessible approach to recharging.

In line with this path, Ewiva also introduced a new rate for payment by credit card/debit card directly at the charging station, designed to offer an easier and more convenient charging experience, especially for occasional users or those not yet tied to charging service providers.

Emissions avoided and environmental benefits: the concrete effect of Ewiva recharges

Since the inception of the joint venture to date, more than 1.3 million recharges have been made on the Ewiva network. A volume that has generated significant and measurable environmental impacts throughout:

– 30,000 tons of CO₂ avoided, equivalent to approximately 1,623,185 trees planted;

– 70 tons of atmospheric particulate matter and 1.8 tons of nitrogen oxides less;

– Noise pollution abatement equal to that produced in one year by about 46,500 endothermic-engine vehicles;

– 240 million kilometers driven electrically, thanks to more than 40 million kWh delivered.

“These results confirm that we are moving in the right direction: every recharge made on our network is a concrete gesture toward a more sustainable and conscious mobility model, said Daniela Biscarini, CEO of Ewiva. “But we know that the electric transition can only become a reality if we can make it simple, accessible and close to people. This is why, alongside network expansion, we have also chosen to invest in initiatives that bring users closer to electric, facilitating the charging experience and helping to spread a new mobility culture. Listening to the real needs of e-drivers, including those of those who are entering this world for the first time, is an integral part of our vision: to build a network that is technologically advanced, but also inclusive and oriented toward everyday use.”

Ewiva: a new ultra-fast charging station in Montecchio Emilia

The growth of the Ewiva network continues: the joint venture of Enel X and Volkswagen Group, created to accelerate the spread of electric mobility in Italy, announces the activation of a new ultra-fast charging station in Montecchio Emilia, in the province of Reggio Emilia. Located at Strada Sant’Ilario 57, the station is inserted in a strategic area, inside the parking lot of a shopping center and near the Silvio D’Arzo School Complex, representing a new step toward an increasingly widespread service close to citizens.

The new site is equipped with 2 columns – or charging infrastructure – of 150 kW each, for a total of 4 high-power charging points (PoCs). The Ewiva columns, as usual, offer contactless payment modes with credit, debit or prepaid cards (Mastercard, Visa, VPay, Maestro circuits) and with Apple Pay or Google Pay. It is also possible to pay via app or RFID card from one of more than 100 Charging Service Providers (Mobility Service Providers) partners, or use the Plug&Charge feature, for automatic charging without the need for manual authentication.

“With this new activation,” says Daniela Biscarini, CEO of Ewiva, “we give further impetus to the development of electric mobility in Emilia-Romagna, an area where we already operate with more than 20 ultra-fast stations and 75 charging points. Montecchio Emilia is a virtuous example of public-private collaboration: each new station is an opportunity to encourage sustainable mobility choices, accessible to all.”

The realization of the station took place in synergy with the Municipality of Montecchio Emilia, which strongly supported an innovative and sustainable project. “We believe,” said Deputy Mayor, Bruno Aleotti, “that the activation of this service available to citizens and those passing through the area is an important step to promote mobility that respects the environment, the territory and public health. Success comes through modern infrastructures that reduce charging times and are easily accessible by encouraging the purchase of electric cars by citizens.”

A new Ewiva ultra-fast charging station arrives in Fénis, for increasingly accessible electric mobility also in the Aosta Valley

Fénis (AO), July 10, 2025 – Network growth, attention to the territory and an increasingly widespread service: Ewiva – the joint venture of Enel X and Volkswagen Group, created to accelerate the spread of electric mobility in Italy – announces the activation of a new ultra-fast charging station in Fénis (AO), confirming its commitment to an increasingly widespread electric transition, also in mountainous territories. This new station joins the other two sites already active in Valle d’Aosta, completing coverage on the Saint Vincent – Aosta route.

The new site is located in the Chez Sapin locality, along the Regional Road, at the entrance to the Municipality of Fénis and is equipped with 3 charging infrastructures, also called “columns,” of 300 kW each, for a total of 6 high-power charging points. The columns are equipped with a contactless payment system, accepting credit, debit or prepaid cards from the Mastercard, Visa, VPay, and Maestro circuits, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. It is also possible, however, to pay for recharging through the application or RFID card of one’s MSP of choice. To date, there are more than 100 Ewiva-enabled electric charging service providers. Those, on the other hand, who own an enabled car will be able to recharge by taking advantage of the Plug&Charge feature, which provides access to the charging service automatically, without the use of apps or cards.

The choice of the location of the new site is not random. In fact, it is located a short distance from the famous Castle of Fénis, one of the most visited manor houses in the region, and right in front of the Comtes de Challant Ethical Hotel, a hotel facility attentive to social inclusion.

“With this activation,” says Daniela Biscarini, CEO of Ewiva, “we expand our network in an area of great touristic and cultural value. Each station we activate is one more opportunity to bring people closer to electric mobility, offering a simple, fast and accessible charging experience for everyone.”

“The site was built in collaboration with the Municipal Administration of Fénis, which believed from the beginning in the importance of investing in a sustainable and innovative infrastructure: “Our municipality has always been attentive to environmental issues,” said Mattia Nicoletta, Mayor of Fénis, “and having believed in this project is a reconfirmation of the direction in which the Municipal Administration has been looking over the past ten years, placing respect for and protection of the environment among its priorities.”

Ewiva sets new price for payment by credit or debit card at €0.86/kWh

Ewiva sets new price for payment by credit or debit card at €0.86/kWh.
From now on, the new base price, including VAT, will be €0.86/kWh, replacing the current rate of €0.95/kWh.

More good news for all e-drivers: Ewiva, the joint venture of Enel X and Volkswagen Group, created to accelerate the spread of electric mobility in Italy, is applying a new lowered rate for recharges made through a contactless payment system (credit and ATM card) at enabled stations in its ultra-fast network. From now on, the new base price, including VAT, will be €0.86/kWh, replacing the current tariff of €0.95/kWh.

Applied as of July 1st, this new base rate represents further confirmation of the company’s desire and commitment to help make electric mobility increasingly accessible, transparent and sustainable for everyone, especially for occasional users who prefer immediate and simple recharging solutions, such as paying directly at the charging station by credit card or ATM. The promotion is valid until May 31 at all Ewiva recharge sites equipped with a contactless payment system, which accept credit, debit or prepaid cards from the Mastercard, Visa, VPay, Maestro circuits, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay.

Over 200 million zero-emission kilometers thanks to Ewiva’s charging network

More infrastructure, more interoperability, and new initiatives to make public charging increasingly accessible, thanks also to dedicated promotions and a shared commitment with the industry.

On the occasion of Earth Day, Ewiva – the joint venture between Enel X and the Volkswagen Group created to accelerate electric mobility in Italy – presents the environmental results achieved by its ultra-fast charging network, powered 100% by renewable energy.

Since its launch, Ewiva has recorded over 1 million charging sessions, enabling e-drivers to travel more than 200 million zero-emission kilometers – equivalent to over 5,000 times the Earth’s circumference. This has avoided the emission of over 25,000 tons of CO₂ into the atmosphere, a reduction equivalent to planting more than 1 million trees.

The positive impact extends to air quality, thanks to the prevention of more than 1.5 tons of atmospheric particulate matter and over 60 tons of nitrogen oxides. It also brings benefits in terms of noise pollution: an amount of noise equivalent to that produced by more than 40,000 internal combustion vehicles has been avoided. These figures tell the story of a real transformation: Ewiva’s network is not just a charging infrastructure, but a catalyst for change that helps make cities cleaner, quieter, and more welcoming for the mobility of the future.

An ultra-fast, widespread, and reliable network

In the first quarter of 2025, Ewiva further expanded its presence, reaching 400 completed stations and over 1,400 HPC charging points distributed throughout Italy. The network now covers around 90% of Italian provinces and is interoperable with around 100 Italian and international mobility service providers (MSPs).

More than 80% of Ewiva charging stations are equipped with integrated POS systems, allowing direct payment at the station via card or smartphone, without subscriptions or registration, making them accessible even to occasional users.

Sustainability not only environmental, but also economic for users

Ewiva’s commitment to developing electric mobility is reflected not only in its infrastructure expansion and service quality but also in its strategy to make charging increasingly accessible and economically sustainable. Among the upcoming initiatives, the company has planned a promotion starting from May 1st, dedicated to users who charge via contactless using Mastercard, Visa, VPay, and Maestro debit, credit, or prepaid cards, or via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

This approach fits into a broader vision, where the joint effort of the entire supply chain – from CPOs to MSPs – is essential to building simpler, more transparent, and beneficial solutions and offers for users, making a tangible contribution to the spread of electric mobility in Italy.

Contributing to the energy transition of our country also involves daily choices, like choosing to drive electric. Our goal is to make this choice easier, more accessible, and more convenient,” said Daniela Biscarini, CEO of Ewiva. This is why – as a CPO – we are investing both in expanding the charging network and in launching promotional initiatives that directly benefit users – such as the upcoming promotion for contactless card charging – and the MSPs with whom we are interoperable.

Our initiatives toward MSPs are designed to promote a dynamic and effective transfer of benefits to end users. Our efforts will be even more effective in developing the market if MSPs work synergistically to make charging affordable and accessible. Only through active collaboration among all players in the industry can we strengthen trust in public infrastructure and jointly accelerate the sustainable growth of the entire ecosystem.”
