Following the Piacenza site, Ewiva has built a second facility for electric heavy-duty vehicles in the Emilia-Romagna region—a strategic logistics hub connecting Northern and Southern Italy.
Ewiva, the Enel Group’s ultra-fast charging station operator, has taken a decisive new step in the electrification of heavy-duty transport by announcing the opening of a new charging station in Noceto, in the province of Parma. This is no ordinary station; it is the second site dedicated to ultra-fast charging for e-trucks, following the recent launch of the first facility in Piacenza.
The new Ewiva site on Via dei Bersaglieri (in the Pontetaro area), developed in collaboration with the Municipality of Noceto, was designed to precisely meet the operational needs of electric heavy-duty transport by ensuring high power output, adequate space, and ease of maneuvering. The station features a total of 8 charging points: four 400 kW ultra-fast charging points dedicated to electric trucks, and four 300 kW charging points designed for light electric vehicles. The station utilizes a drive-through layout with extra-large bays (up to 20×4 meters) and a design that allows for smooth maneuvering—even for articulated vehicles—alongside clear signage and ample space to facilitate safe entry, exit, and parking.
The site’s location, right next to the Parma Ovest motorway exit, further enhances its strategic value, making it a key reference point for drivers of electric heavy-duty vehicles traveling along major national routes. Once again, Emilia-Romagna confirms its status as a strategic region for the development of high-power charging infrastructure dedicated to freight transport; it is a region that serves as one of the country’s key logistics hubs, a vital link between Northern and Southern Italy, and a crossroads for industrial and commercial flows.
The project was made possible through collaboration with the Municipality of Noceto, which supported the creation of infrastructure capable of combining technological innovation, environmental sustainability, and local development, thereby making a tangible contribution to the decarbonization of heavy-duty transport.
Mayor Fabio Fecci stated: “I would like to highlight the importance of the agreement signed with the company Ewiva, which grants surface rights to this municipal site for the construction of a heavy-vehicle charging station, while ensuring rental income for the Municipality. The agreement thus transforms a parking area that saw little use into a technologically advanced hub of national significance. Following this project, 20 parking spaces remain at the site. A key aspect of the initiative,” Fecci continued, “is the charging station’s strategic and favorable location, situated in the immediate vicinity of the A15 motorway exit. Noceto thus ranks among the very first municipalities nationwide—and second only to Piacenza within the region—to host cutting-edge infrastructure dedicated entirely to charging electric trucks. It is becoming a crucial reference point for ‘green’ heavy-freight transport routes, hosted within a public space.”
With the launch of the Noceto site, Ewiva strengthens its presence in Emilia-Romagna, where it now operates 53 ultra-fast charging stations—including two for e-trucks—and a total of 206 charging points. This move reaffirms the company’s commitment to developing an extensive, high-power network that supports all segments of electric mobility, including more challenging sectors such as heavy-duty vehicles.
