Ewiva, the Enel Group’s ultra-fast charging station operator, is continuing its commitment to expanding the high-power charging network across the entire peninsula, with the aim of supporting Italian local authorities on their journey towards increasingly sustainable mobility. This time we’re stopping off in Tortolì, in the province of Ogliastra, the beating heart of Sardinia’s east coast, famous for its maritime traditions and unspoilt landscapes.
Tortolì: a journey through archaeology, nature and sculpture
A key destination for the whole of the Ogliastra area, Tortolì offers visitors a multifaceted experience that combines coastal relaxation with a rich and surprising cultural heritage. Here are four unmissable stops to discover in the town centre and surrounding area:
– Arbatax: A seaside hamlet and the port heart of Tortolì. Famous for the unmistakable silhouette of the ‘Rocce Rosse’ – imposing porphyry cliffs that rise like cathedrals from the emerald waters – it is the perfect spot for a scenic stroll bathed in the sea breeze.
– Nuraghe S’Ortali ‘e su Monti: A fascinating archaeological site from Sardinian prehistory. The monumental area comprises not only the majestic nuraghe, but also the so-called ‘tombs of the giants’ and domus de janas, evidence of an ancient and flourishing past.
– Su logu de s’iscultura Museum: A stunning open-air contemporary art project. The streets, squares and vistas of Tortolì are transformed into a museum spread across the city, where sculptures and works by internationally renowned artists such as Corrado Bonomi and Mauro Staccioli blend harmoniously with the urban fabric and the surrounding landscape.
– La Sughereta Park: A precious green space situated just behind the town centre. This extensive woodland of centuries-old cork oaks offers an oasis of shade and tranquillity, ideal for relaxing walks. Within this 7-hectare area, there is plenty of space even for the little ones, with play areas and facilities for sport.
