For the past few months, it has been possible to initiate contactless charging via debit, credit or prepaid cards from the Mastercard, Visa, Vpay and Maestro circuits, or via Apple Pay and Google Pay.

When you choose to charge your vehicle using POS payment, with a credit/debit card, the terminal blocks a standard pre-authorisation amount (or blocking amount) of EUR 60 until the actual debit amount is registered.

The remaining pre-authorisation amount – net of the actual debit – will be automatically released on the card on a timescale depending directly on the bank that issued the card you have used.

We advise you to wait a few days for the amount to be released, and if necessary contact your bank for further information.

The cost of recharging with Ewiva is €0.95/kWh including vat.

If you think there is an error or if you have any issue, please send a request to our customer service department info@ewiva.com.

The EVs compatibility depends on the charger. Ewiva stations feature the CCS charger type which is the common standard, as well as some ChaDemo chargers.
Check out the compatibility on the vehicle handbook.

We categorize four charging modes. All of Ewiva’s charging stations will allow you to charge as described in mode 4 from 100 kW to 350 kW in direct current (DC).

MODE 1. Home charging or on privately-owned premises, typically at 4 kW, through an industrial-rared Cee or Schuko plug connecting to the EV through its charging cable. It’s the charging mode of choice for light vehicles, mopeds, and bikes.

MODE 2. Home charging or on privately-owned premises for EVs must be performed with added security and the use of a so-called box, a wall-mounted device with monitoring and control features, and a Type 2 cable.

MODE 3. It’s the mode of choice to charge in alternate current (AC) at public charging stations within the 3 kW to 22 kW AC range. Each charging station is integrated with safety and control features that actively engage with the EV during the charging process. These offer mostly Type 2 sockets (the standard in EVs) and sometimes Type 3A sockets which are still used by some light vehicles.

MODE 4. It’s used for fast and ultra fast charging in direct current (DC) at public charging stations in the power range topping at 350 kW. Such facilities feature an integrated AC/DC converter, embedded power cables with CCS or Combo (european standard) sockets as well as ChaDemo (japanese standard). They boast safety and controll systems, devised to link up to the EV to streamline the charging session and preserve the battery.

In order to start charging with Ewiva you need to subscribe to a charging services provider (MSP). You can charge through an App or an Rfid card. To find out which MSPs are already eligible, visit the “Solutions” section

Labels found in the Ewiva 100, 150, and 300-rated charging stations refer to kW. Meaning, the maximum power available in a single charging station.

No. The Ewiva charging network is open to all. Check in the “Solutions” section  the charging services providers (MSP) that are enabled to operate in our stations. Still can’t find your MSP? Drop us a line at info@ewiva.com to make a suggestion!

As you may know, charging can always be interrupted from the car. Check your vehicle documents to find out how.

Alternatively, you can end your charge directly from the charging station screen: access the details of your charge session and press the End button.
Please note that the end-of-session process may require authentication, so remember to use the same payment method: for example, if you have authenticated with a credit card, the system will ask you to authenticate with the same card used to start the charge session.
If you have initiated the session via an app or RFID card, you can also end the session from the app of the MSP (charging service provider) used.

We’ve engineered our stations by checking all boxes when accessibility is concerned, designing larger screens and placing them at an adequate height, while setting up larger parking areas in order to allow for a complete opening of the vehicle’s door. If you experienced any issues or barriers that prevent you from accessing the area, please reach out at your earliest convenience at a info@ewiva.com.

No, not all vehicles are enabled to Plug&Charge. Check the booklet or contact your dealer of choice.

Charging time depends on several factors, and values can change depending on the evolution of the actual power accepted by the vehicle during the charging session. We can estimate that in HPC charging sessions, to bring a battery from about 20%, up to 80%, the minimum time taken can vary from 10 to 30 minutes depending on the type of vehicle.

We report a simplified matrix below:

*time is expressed in minutes

**values are intended to be “as of…”, so the charging time of a city car with a battery capacity of 40kWh, connected to a 100kW column, will be as of 20 minutes. So will that of a medium-sized car with a capacity of 60kWh, connected to a 150kW column, be from 20 minutes.

Always consult your vehicle manual to find out charging times.

If you have visited one of our sites and encountered a malfunction or an issue that you wish to report, please write to us with full details at info@ewiva.com

Transparency and clarity are valuable values at Ewiva: before contacting us, remember to review our privacy policy.

No, there’s no need to drain the battery to have it fully recharged next. The latest lithium-ion batteries benefit most from small-scale charges.

  • Charging times are influenced by several factors . We always suggest you to:
    • verify the charging standard of your EV, meaning how many kWs it can charge in direct current (DC);
    • assess how many kWh (energy) are needed to reach your destination based on distance, driving style, and type of itinerary;
    • maintain a percentage of charging level between 20 and 80%. In order to preserve the battery, most EVs will significantly reduce the charging speed once the battery has reached approximately 80% charge. For further info, check your EVs handbook.

Perform small-scale charges in case the battery hasn’t completely ran out of power. For such instances, the charging time can be greatly reduced. Check this information on your EV’s handbook.

In optimal conditions, the ultra-fast charging allows you to get back on the road in a short time (check charging times here). However, we’re aware that in some cases charging times may take longer than expected, so, this is why we carefully plan each location of our charging stations in order to offer a pleasant and comfortable experience. Right on the spot or at a short walking distance you’ll find cafès, restaurants, supermarkets, and shopping malls. Check our website at ewiva.com and start planning your journey.

As the name suggests, charging bays are reserved for charging and not for parking, hence they must be vacated once the charge has been completed. Ewiva is always keen on inviting its users to promptly vacate the charging bay so as to allow other users to charge their EV. Although, in some instances, a random EV may be illegally occupying the space. In this case, we suggest reaching out to the local traffic authorities to flag this issue.

The cable housing features three main status indicators: White color means it’s in a STOP or, it’s available to use; Blue color indicates the charging station has been selected and that the cable is ready to be connected to the EV. Green color indicates the charging is in progress. Is the cable housing red? In this case, service in that specific charging station isn’t currently available.

If the session ends immediately without any charging carried out, that means an error occurred. Check whether you’ve stopped at the appropriate charging station as selected on your app and if the charging cable was inserted correctly.

If the issue persists, reach out for your charging services provider (MSP).

Ewiva’s charging stations are open 24/7. Look for the one that’s closest to you and browse the map on www.ewiva.com.

If you reached a charging station and weren’t able to access it, please reach out at info@ewiva.com.

Check with your charging services provider (MSP) the maximum alloted time to vacate the charging bay once the charging is complete.

As the name suggests, charging bays are reserved for charging. Once the charging has been completed, vacate it as soon as possible in order to avoid paying penalties and to allow other users to charge their own EV.

If you’ve completed the charge but are unable to disconnect your EV’s cable, try to repeat the completion procedure.

Please note: some EVs call for the cable to be extracted only when the doors are open or by pressing a bespoke button. Check your EV’s handbook for further info.

If you’re unable to complete your charge, check whether all steps were carried out. In case you’re using the app of a charging services provider (MSP), try to reopen it on your smartphone and repeat the procedure or reach out to your provider’s customer service.

If you’re using the Card, try again to place it near to the charging station’s reader and repeat the procedure. If the issue persists, reach out to the card’s issuer customer service.

This issue could be related to your charging service providere (MSP). Please ensure that:

  • your smartphone has GPS-enabled location services and check whether you’re near your charging station of choice.
  • your charging station is active and functioning on the app.
  • your smartphone data/internet connection is operational.
If the issue persists, reach out to your charging services provider (MSP).

Ewiva charging stations all feature the most commonly-used sockets in EVs, namely CCS type and ChaDemo in some selected stations.

Of course. Your EV will keep absorbing as much power as it’s designed to. Check in advance on your EV’s handbook whether it can charge in direct current.

Our charging network is ultra-fast and that literally means ultra powerful, with a top power ranging from 100kW up to 350kW.

Charging times depend on several factors: from the power available from the charging infrastructure, and from what the EV can absorb during the charging session (influenced by: the battery’s state of charge, external air temperature, and other factors), as well as the EV’s onboard electric infrastructure.

Ewiva’s charging infrastructure is classified as “Ultrafast” as its stations are equipped with power ranging from 100kW up to 350kW. In perfect conditions, most of currently marketed EVs are able to power up in direct current, reaching 80% battery levels in an average timeframe of 20 minutes.

In order to discover the charging times, check out the vehicle handbook.
